"The National Wind Coordinating Council, December 2005, makes the same recommendations as does General Electric for ice throw from wind turbines: (page 17 of 22.)
The SIMPLE FORMULA is:
(Rotor Diameter plus Hub height) times 1.5 as the SAFETY ZONE.
(USA Law)...Since the Companies approaching the Town are Limited Liability Companies, please check with the DOS, as well as your insurance broker, as to the liability of not following the National Wind Council's Recommendations in your Local Law and how much more conservative your Local Law has to be in order to protect the town and its taxpayers."
