UK planning regulations are strange, to say the very least.
In southern England, the 'London Array' offshore wind farm proposal can be held up due to concerns about construction traffic and the visual effect of the design of a substation.
Whereas on the coastlines and mountains and moorlands of the rest of the UK, giant wind farms complete with substations, access roadways, 'borrow-pits' etc., are considered to be fit for planting more or less anywhere, and 'to-hell' with the opinions of local communities.
