many thanks to A.K. for the above web link and the comments of...
"The above very important information has been sent in by a campaigner.
You are strongly urged not miss this unrepeatable opportunity to inform the DTI of any wind turbine noise nuisance that you have experienced or are aware of from other sources.
Unless campaigners do this the revised ETSU Report (supposedly due out in Autumn 2006 after years
of delay !) will probably be as flawed as the 1997 ETSU Report. The latter was due for revision about the year 2000.
Meanwhile, judgements on noise have continued to be been based on this out-of-date and flawed Report.
I had to make endless requests for the ETSU-R-92 update which was also years overdue and finally published in 1997.
Mark Legerton, author of ETSU-R-92 , has since switched jobs and works directly (rather than indirectly!) for the wind industry."

The above article might throw some light on the question in the Western Mail about what the Welsh Assembly does?
Absolutely no rhyme or reason is given for the sheer destruction of countryside while developers (wind power, or otherwise) are allowed to ride roughshod over communities without any possibility of redress for their actions. So folks - what is the purpose of having the Welsh Assembly?Where's the Countryside Council for Wales (CCW) been while this happened? Where's the Campaign for the Protection of Rural Wales (CPRW) been while this happened? Aren't these organisations consulted on planning issues? In the meantime.... 4 years of hard work by a community enterprise scheme gets completely destroyed in hours!!

From the comments of the householder in the above article... It's a shame that he doesn't have one of those 410ft turbines planted next to his house.

Plaid leader joins battle to save our Neurosurgery Unit (article - web link)
A rather too-convenient, opportunist 'vote-catching' moment' for Plaid to make this announcement from their Party Political conference being held in Swansea.
It just so happens, that a e-mail concerning the neurosurgery issue was sent on 25th August to one of the AMs mentioned in the above article. A reply was received from that AM's office on 31st August, which stated... "out of office until Monday September 4th
mas o'r swyddfa tan Dydd Llun Medi'r 4ydd"
No correspondence has been received since. Comments from that AM were published in the above Evening Post article. I'm sure that you can all come to your own conclusions!! It needs to be clarified that this is not in reference to Dr Dai Lloyd AM, who was extremely supportive in reply to a copy of the 25th August e-mail.

The John Muir Trust chairman Dick Balharry discusses his concerns about the threat posed to our wild land by windfarm development.
Dick has been promoting the values of wild land for many years and is becoming alarmed at the burgeoning number of windfarm planning applications in areas of wild land. The John Muir Trust has just launched a campaign against large-scale windfarm development and is calling for your help!
