Folks,
As you are all aware of, we have far more than enough to cope with from wind farm developers and our pseudo-politicians, but because the LNG pipeline is presently snaking its way across S.Wales and directly affects members of the SOCME group, I have no hesitation in including news of the pipeline on today's web page.

This morning I received an e-mail from Linda Ware, who is an LNG pipeline protester and a founder member of the SAFE HAVEN NETWORK group which covers an area from Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire to Tirley, Gloucestershire and who's members have very real problems and safety concerns regarding the pipeline. Linda is an intelligent, articulate lady who doesn't think twice about taking on the likes of our politicians and WAG, as she more than adequately displayed on a recent BBC TV 'The Politics Show' programmme.
Not surprisingly, Linda's anti-pipeline network group experience exactly the same problems from Local Authority planning departments and politicians that anti-wind power groups experience. I have therefore included her e-mail below and her e-mail address in the hope that one of you might be able to help with her query. Anti-wind power groups are by no means alone in protesting against get-rich-quick developers and their political friends.

Subject: Rock blasting at Trebanos
Fios-y-fran Land Reclamation Scheme
I just found this and wondered if there is anything in there for you Mal as it mentions wind turbines and is interesting within itself. Congratulations Mal on your listing. You have made SOCME famous. Next it will be listing on the Stock Exchange no doubt :)
Third and by no means least I am searching for exclusion zones for rock blasting. Yesterday they were ready to test blast at Trebanos but did not do so. We watched the engineers for quite some time until they left but one of them let slip whilst we were talking to them that there is an exclusion zone of 100 metres for rock blasting. However when it was pointed out to them that between Liz XXXXX's house and the next one there was not 100 metres in total let alone around a blast shot, they left.
Does anyone know where I can find out this information. Are there any shot firers left anywhere or have the National Grid got them all ?

I would appreciate any feedback on this.
Linda

Following Linda's request is an article from today's Western mail newspaper which describes the 1906 earthquake that occured in this area. As this happened in 1906, I'm sure that some 'expert consultant' paid by the WAG will undoubtedly say that "something similar will never happen again" after the 4ft diameter high pressure LNG ipeline is in situ. If it does happen, I just hope that the same 'expert consultant' is still around to witness it and be made accountable for what would be devastating consequences to the inhabitants of S. Wales.

If you might think that I am exaggerating about "devasting consequences", please spend a few mintes to read this American web site on LNG accidents

A Danish company is gearing up to build a wave farm off the Pembrokeshire coast at St Anne's Head. It would be the UK's first project of its kind and could produce enough energy for 60,000 homes. Abigail Neal reports, with comments from the CCW and Andrew Davies AM.
