Thoughts on North Gower - Mynydd y Gwair & Kyoto.
        By Ioan ap Trefor.

Sunset on snow covered Mynydd y Gwair There are grave concerns about the issue of Wind Energy. The Kyoto agreement seems fundamentally flawed in that key players such as the USA, Russia and others are not participants. The politicians some years ago asked scientists to depict a variety of future climate scenarios - and then the politicians latched on to the "worst possible imaginary scenario” and thus was born the scare-mongering of “global warming”.

There is no doubt that there is climate warming, and the planet is getting marginally warmer,* (see Reference Source below) but more and more serious scientists are now questioning the claims of amateur politicians in respect of the extent of how man's activities are influencing climate change and to what extent man's activities can curtail climate change.

For anyone to think that Wind Turbines in Wales will stop a mainly natural immense global process is not really accepting the facts of the issue.

The great sadness of Kyoto is how truly massive financial public subsidies are now being squandered on making vast profits for corporations in the Wind industry for just a "piddle" of electricity.

All this money should and could make such a real difference in the "Third World” by providing clean water drinking systems: health and hospital projects: education: and programmes to eradicate prejudice and reduce population pressures.

Instead, it's all being poured into the coffers of the big businesses of the likes of General Electric Co., USA, against whom many of us have just won a case with the British Advertising Standards Authority for blatant lies in their advertisments!

Indeed, the 'Wind industry' has now lost several cases for false statements, with the ASA.
The whole industry's ethics are questionable!

Prior to this, one of the main players in Wind Power (before their scandalous bankruptcy) was ENRON Wind of USA – these are the likes of who are taking the vast subsidies and are moving in to despoil Wales.

Not one single conventional Power Station anywhere (nuclear or coal) will shut down, or even slow down, if we plaster Wales with Wind Turbines. I hope readers can find time to study statistics they can glean from UK Government publications mainly from the Department of Trade and Industry.

Mynydd y Gwair Kyoto seems to be only of benefit to the ‘Wind’ moguls and those many delegates who fly to lavish exotic conference venues at great public expense to spout useless hot air.

Perhaps on a fine day they can find time to wander around our mountains, amongst the skylarks, mountain hares, heather, flora and grazing livestock and reflect on what devastation is being proposed - just to enrich the multi nationals.
