This is a bit of a mystery to all of us and it cannot be clearly explained to us by Carmarthenshire County Council (CCC) officials. However, it seems that the CCC now needs to argue with itself because the Planning Committee, which approved the Blaengwen wind farm planning application, actually broke the above mentioned CCC's planning policies by giving approval; so a "Departure Committee" has to be convened to check out the Planning Committee's decision.

Your support in submitting objections is greatly needed again.

It is believed that the planning officer wants comments relating to the Carmarthenshire District Local Plan's (CDLP) points, but it might be worth reiterating the original reasons for objection as well, but most importantly, it is concerns of the breaking of the CCC's Local Plans that is of prime importance. From what we are led to believe, it is the broken planning policies which will determine the decision of the "Departure Committee."

I hope this makes some sense to you because it's somewhat confusing; to say the least.

The very sad news about the proposed Blaengwen wind farm.
19/08/05
Considering the terrible news from Caroline about the Carmarthenshire planning officer's decision to recommend the Blaengwen wind farm planning application, the following information is available to be viewed and studied. The full report on the Carmarthenshire County Council's web site is extremely lengthy, so it would be advisable to save the web page to your PC's desktop to read at your leisure, off-line.

Carmarthenshire County Council planning officer's final report   (Report - web link)
A detailed and lengthy report on the Carmarthenshire County Council web site.
I personally find it of interest that Ceredigion County Council had no objections subject to mitigation of any noise and micro-wave interference affecting properties in Ceredigion. Are they publicly admitting that these problems actually do exist?

An appeal from Brechfa Forest
Dear Mal
David Poulter (Carmarthenshire County Council Planning) says the Blaengwen application MAY be scheduled for the planning meeting on Thursday 25 August - site meeting in the morning including a visit over to the Blaen Bowi site [for turbine experience] and then the actual committee in the afternoon.
Can you circulate that we need letters to the Carmarthen Journal and others that councillors and Carmarthenshire residents may read referring to Blaengwen in particular and specific objections that the planning committee CAN take into account - visual impairment, etc, to -
letters@carmarthenjournal.co.uk
- the letters get published in ALL the Carmarthen Journal regional editions so it helps all our causes. The editor needs them really by the Friday preceding the issue, so tomorrow for the issue on 17th and Friday 19th for the 24th August issue - the day before the planning meeting. More soon
Caroline
PS - I gave David Poulter the link to the Keele report on noise/vibration.
